"Look to Your Elders" is a mural located in Roxbury, a neighborhood of Boston, MA. Measuring 20 feet in height and 40 feet in width, Marka27 designed it to be an uplifting and colorful piece that reaches multiple generations. The mural features Caribbean plants, a nod to the many Caribbean and Afro Latinos in Boston, along with indigenous patterns throughout. The African woman carrying the large water jug represents motherly energy and the giver of life. The young black male gazing up to the heavens is a symbol of a young man with ambitions looking to a bright future with the guidance of our ancestors.
